How to Sideload Apps from the App Zone!

This site is dedicated to providing access to free apps that are not readily available through the nabi App Zone or Amazon Appstore.  Some listed apps may be available through the Amazon Appstore but are not at the developers latest release level or install properly.

This post provides step by step instructions on how to access the site using the tablet, download a desired app, install it and make it available for use in nabi Mode.

Prerequisites and Conditions are highlighted on individual app posts when the Google Play Services app is required to be installed prior to installing the app. While the Google Play Services and Store apps from the Googlie Booglie post cannot be used to purchase, install or upgrade apps, they can be used for in-app purchases and license checks.  Installing them and setting up an account also registers the tablet on the Google Play Store website, which allows you to check app compatibilities and 'ghost install' apps when required.

If you have any issues following this process or comments, please post them to my Facebook page.  To receive app update and newly added app notifications be sure to Like the page.

1. In Mommy Mode, launch the Browser app and enter Everything Nabi App Zone into the address bar.  This will return results similar to the one shown below.
2. Click on the Everything Nabi ! - App Zone link.

Apps can be located by using the Search field; by sorting using the various Categories listed at the top of the blog; reviewing the Popular Apps of the Week list; or by simply scrolling through the various blog pages.

3. When you locate the app you are interested in, simply click on the link provided.

4. Read through the blog post and identify if there are any Prerequisites, Cautions or Conditions that need to be taken into consideration prior to installing the app.

5. Click on the Download or the Alternative Download link to switch to the page where the file is stored.

6. Click on the Download button, in order to begin downloading the app.

7. Notice the Download Arrow that pops up beside the clock in the bottom right corner.  This indicates that a file is being downloaded to the tablet.
8. A Download Complete Notification should pop-up when the app has successfully downloaded to the tablet.  Note that the larger the app, the longer it will take to download.

9. Click on the Download Complete Notification to initiate the Installation process.

NOTE: If you are updating a previously installed app, then you will be asked if you want to replace the existing app.  Click on the OK button in order to proceed.
10. Click on the Install button to begin the installation of the app.
11. Click on the Done button, once the application has successfully installed.
12. To delete the file just downloaded, hit the Home soft key and click on the All Apps icon in the top right corner.  Scroll through and launch the Downloads app.

13. To delete the file, check the box beside it and then click on the Trash Can in the top right corner.
14. Exit the Downloads app by clicking on the Home soft key in the bottom left corner.
15. Launch the Add Apps app and check the box beside the app that you would like to make available in nabi Mode.  Unchecking apps removes their availability in nabi Mode.  Click on the Back soft key to exit Add Apps.
16.  Return to nabi Mode and click on the All Apps icon in the top right corner.
17. Locate the app that you want to add to the Home Screen for easy access.
18. Hold down on the app and position it on the Home Screen.

If you have a nabi JR 4GB tablet, then I'd recommend installing the Googlie Booglie apks, then go to the Googlie Booglie Essentials post to install the latest version of YouTube. If you scroll to the top of this page you'll find the Googlie Booglie Essentials post located on the right side under Popular Apps of the Week this will provide you the links needed.
